CORINTHIANS 10:5
What is your thought life like? Do you indulge in daydreams and fantasies? Be careful what you think! Secret desires and inner dreams contrary to God’s principles need to be rooted out and cast away. We enter into dangerous territory when we let our minds wander. In a world of R-rated movies, porn, and offensive music, we must shield our eyes and ears from unhealthy media. This may mean not attending a movie with your friends or turning off the radio in order to guard the purity of your mind. I have often wished that I could return to the innocence and naiveté of my childhood; it would be so much easier that way. But as we grow older, the world grows a lot less innocent. Prayerfully consider the things you think on. If you have trouble guarding your thought life or cannot maintain a steady devotion time, you should find an older, wiser woman to be your accountability partner. If you pursue Christ, Satan has no room in your heart. Ask God to fill your mind with Him, and focus on “whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable” (Philippians 4:8).

Father, I’m glad I’m growing older,
but I pray that I will also get wiser so that
I will make choices that You will be proud of.
