1 CHRONICLES 28:9
This verse holds a powerful promise. Do you really believe that if you seek God, you will find Him? Has anyone really found God? And what exactly are we looking for? These are the questions I was asking when I read this verse. But the more important question, I believe, is, “To whom does God reveal Himself?” He says it is the pure in heart that will see Him (Matthew 5:8), and that those who seek Him with all their heart and soul will find him. (Deuteronomy 4:29; Matthew 7:7-8) I was seeking Him with all my heart about six months ago when I was going through a course that included learning how to hear God’s voice. I was praying, asking God to tell me where He wanted me to go next. All of the sudden, in my mind, the word Saipan clearly came up. I had never seen or heard this word before, so I thought I was just making up words. I decided to check out a map just in case, and I found a tiny island in the South Pacific called Saipan! Two months later I was there, fulfilling God’s call! So be encouraged. God doesn’t always speak that way, but neither is He always silent. I think sometimes He’s just waiting for us to take a step closer, to get to know Him better. Perhaps there are a few things that He is just dying to share with us!
