MATTHEW 6:34
Every day, when I have a couple of minutes, my mind wanders and I begin to think of everything I have to do that day or the next. Really what I should worry about is the here and now. I once heard a quote that read, “Worry does not empty tomorrow of its troubles, it empties today of its strength.” I should worry about how many more people we can win for God’s kingdom, not whether a certain boy likes me or not. Why worry about the things we cannot change the outcome of or things that are trivial? You cannot control everything, and sometimes you are not even in control of your own life. “What ifs” only cause worry, and do not change the outcome. Our problems and worries are minor compared to leading others to Christ and eternal salvation. Satan ultimately is the one who puts that worry in our heart. He enjoys seeing us rely on other things to resolve our worry instead of coming to God when He calls us back. So bring your troubles to God, who does not think of our problems as trivial; they are of utmost importance to Him. He loves you, and is waiting for you to hand Him your worries and problems.

Lord, what concerns me concerns You,
so help me to learn to not lean on my own understanding,
but to cast all my cares upon You. Amen.
