GALATIANS 2:20
I remember the night I gave my heart to Jesus at summer camp. Even though I had been forgiven for my sins, the hardest part for me was yet to come. For the next few days we trained to go into the community and share the gospel. We had devotions every day, and we had time to talk to the Lord and just think about things. I love to spend time just talking with the Lord because He cares about everything—even the small things. Community outreach was just around the corner, and we had one more night to make everything right before we went out to share the gospel. We had a commitment service where we got to spend time alone to make a commitment to the Lord that we would continue to do His work in His way. This was the “no turning back” stage: It was either go hard or go home! I live on the big island of Hawaii, and it is bigger than all the other seven islands put together, so we had a lot of work ahead of us. Spending time with God and asking Him to give me strength helped me to face this big task. I knew that this would be a time when I had to give myself over completely to Him because I could not make a real difference in people’s lives without Him.
