GENESIS 24:27 (KJV)
I am constantly on the go. I jog the wayward path of ambition and personal expectations along with so many others. In this constantly moving world, I get tangled up in all the rush and start sprinting to what I think is the ultimate target. But while I’m sprinting, I’m zipping by all those people who aren’t doing quite as well, or are just plain tired of it all. If I stopped and took a look at the people jogging around me, I might see more than just the blur of a passerby. Those people may look just fine from my perspective, but underneath that tailored smile or the spiffy suit, they could be falling apart. We are called by Christ to spread the good news. So we need to stop running the wrong path and start walking with the Lord at our side. The world is ready and waiting for us to bring it hope. Now, this may seem impossible, but it’s not. It doesn’t have to be something huge. The possibilities are endless: babysitting for the newlyweds down the street, tossing someone’s paper up to their door instead of leaving it on the sidewalk, baking cookies for the widow in your church, or talking to that boy or girl that has no friends to sit by at lunch. With the Lord at your side, you are invincible! So, start today. Pray that God will give you the courage to get off your own track, and open your eyes to the hurting world around you. Get Ready. Get set. Go!
