GENESIS 1:27
All of us have pictures in our minds based on how we view ourselves, and others. Often we don’t like how we view ourselves and tend to think that if we could be just like so-and-so, or do this or that, we would really be somebody special. What we don’t realize is that when we imagine ourselves looking like someone else, we are questioning how God made us. God wants us to respect ourselves because we were created in His image. We are members of His family living in His household, built on the foundation of His word. God values all of his children, no matter if they are rich or poor, black or white, short or tall, athletic or nonathletic. He made each one of us very carefully, so every one of us is Somebody, even if we don’t believe it. In a message Jesse Jackson was giving to a graduating class, he had them repeat these words: “I am somebody! My mind is a pearl! I can learn anything in the world and be anything I want to be! I am somebody no matter what anyone says to me! I AM SOMEBODY!” You are somebody no matter how many times you may fail. Repeat these words: “I AM SOMEBODY!”
