God honors work

For even when we were with you,
this we commanded you, that if any would
not work, neither should he eat.

2 THESSALONIANS 3:10 (KJV)

Volleyball is a blast! We have improved so much, and we went from having a losing season year before last to having a winning season last year and being conference champions this year. We finished second at state last year and might win this year. We also made a huge improvement in basketball. We went from being 2-15 to 15-10 and third at state. These leaps were not made without a cost. Our teams worked very hard, and God honored that work. I have learned that if I try to please God in all that I do and if I work to the best of my ability, God will bless my work. He expects my best, and I shouldn’t do less than that. I also learned that some who don’t want to work hard can hold a team back. Playing time has to be earned, and those who don’t pay the price often sit the bench. I don’t want to sit God’s bench. I want to be a worker for Him.

Lord, like any really good thing,
being a Christian takes work.
Please give me the desire to work hard for You.
