1 THESSALONIANS 5:14
Throughout the first two months of school, the reality of this worlds problems seemed to slap me in the face. People tend to think that Christian schools are perfect and everyone who goes to school there has a wonderful life, but that is not true. Among all of these struggles, I have realized how important it is to trust in God, give your life to Him, and be there for your friends. I know some students who struggle with suicidal thoughts. One friend deals with family problems and another struggles with a true Christian faith. God put me in their lives to be an encouragement to them. I feel so often that I don’t know the exact words to say to make things better. I am just there to listen, to care, and to pray for them. As I hug them while we are both praying and crying, we work at trusting in God. I don’t know the answers, and I can’t fix all of the problems, but I can encourage them with a note, some yummy chocolate, a prayer, or even a smile. I remind them that they are important and special in God’s eyes and how important a relationship with Him is. I am not at all perfect, but I use the ability God has given me to strengthen others.

God, I know I can’t solve everyone’s problems,
but You have given me the gift of prayer, of listening,
and of love to help them. So please help me use these gifts.
