PROVERBS 19:21
As a senior in high school, I find myself questioning whether my plans for my future are really my plans or God’s plans. This past summer, I thought I wanted to be an orthopedic surgeon or nurse. I was invited to attend a National Leadership Forum of Medicine where I would have the opportunity to mirror physicians in different fields for ten days. As it turned out, the trip never took place. I attended a Christ In Youth conference with my youth group instead. Does this means that God doesn’t want me to go into the medical field? Does this mean that He’s closing that door? I don’t know, but Proverbs says, “Many are the plans in a man’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.” At Christ In Youth we touched on the subject and I realized that I have to be patient, pray, and be still so that I may know the direction that God has planned for me. Daily I will pray for Gods direction in my life. I know in my heart that all things happen in God’s time, and that when I graduate from high school, I still may not have a peace about where God is leading me. That’s okay, because I must learn to be patient and wait for His timing. Matthew 7:7 says “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives; he who seeks, finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.” Each day I shall pray for God to open that door.

Lord, open the door You want me to walk through.
Show me where to go. I want to be led by You.
