JEREMIAH 31:3
How many times have you liked a guy? The sight of his smile makes your heart skip, the glance of his brown eyes leaves you weak-kneed, and he consumes your every thought. You find yourself floating on air at the slightest hint that he knows you exist, but where is God in the midst of these crushes? We innately desire to be loved, not just liked, but passionately and undeniably loved. Many of us have pined away for guys who did not return our affections, and that is painful. If only we would turn to God first! He will never turn away from us; on the contrary, He chases and woos us. Most of us will probably get married, but that is a long ways off. When it seems like all my friends have boyfriends, I usually slip into self-pity. But I think that God does care about this time before we are adults and before we get married. To Him, it is a blessed time of singleness. He wants us to draw close to Him because He knows us more intimately than any one else ever will. Singleness is blessed because you get to be just you! You are a beautiful creature created in God’s image, created to enjoy Him. My words may not be enough to convince you, but here’s what the Maker has to say, “I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with loving-kindness.” (Jeremiah 31:3) The Master of the universe desperately loves you. As your relationship with Christ grows, He will fill your desire to be loved and give you marvelous peace, whether or not there is a guy in your life.
