EPHESIANS 6:12
I am honestly not very excited to write about this subject. In fact, it is the one subject I hoped to avoid, but it has continued to be a part of my life in ways I cannot deny. In the past few years, I have had many confrontations with evil. I don’t know why Satan wanted to frighten me so badly, but night after night and I was filled with an unexplainable terror. I didn’t know what to do to get him to stay away. I felt helpless because I knew he had power. But it didn’t take me very long to figure out that I knew Someone with more power. I knew that Jesus had conquered Satan, and that He had the power to protect me. One night I was scared, and I prayed and cried until I finally fell into an exhausted sleep at 4 a.m. That was the beginning of my escape. The next night I laid in bed in the dark, and I could feel a dark, evil presence in the room with me. I was petrified, but I was prepared with a promise that God had given me—the use of His name. That night, I commanded Satan to leave me and never come back. I commanded him in the name of Jesus. I can truthfully tell you that since that night, I have never been visited by Satan’s evil again. There have been times that I know he wants to get at me, but I can always feel God surrounding me, protecting me with His power and love. Because I trust in Jesus, Satan cannot control me. Thank you, Jesus, for always protecting me, for always being there for me.

God, sometimes I’m really, seriously afraid.
Not just worried but genuinely scared.
Comfort me then, so I’ll remember You always keep me safe.
