PSALM 39:4
I’m standing on the edge.
My whole existence behind me.
All of creation lies before me.
I feel the presence of people all around me,
but I stand alone.
I can see nothing but blinding light,
But I see the world more clearly now.
I hear a distant sound it has a peaceful ringing
But I feel a chill approaching.
Dark is colorless around me smothered by the light.
I am stranded in the mist of time.
I fear nothing, but I can sense the danger ahead.
Time is short I must move on, but where can I go I’m standing on the edge of existence.
Something lies before me I can feel it. I must reach my destination, or else be stuck
standing on the edge of existence.

I’m only on this earth a short time,
Lord, but right now I’m young, and I don’t
feel the urgency of making every moment count.
Help me to start making the most of my life now.
