my miracle

Wait for the LORD; be strong
and take heart and wait for the LORD.

PSALM 27:14

Several years ago I developed a minor health problem that could be fixed with surgery. I didn’t tell anyone because I was scared to have surgery, but the problem only got worse. I began lying to my parents, to try and hide the problem. I was in constant pain, praying for a miracle. Months went by and no miracle happened. I thought God just didn’t care about my life, my prayers, or my pain. Instead of asking for help, I distanced myself and tried to be tough. Finally, one night I cried myself to sleep. I prayed and talked to Him for a long time, pouring everything out to Him. I knew I had to tell my parents. When I told my parents they were worried that some major problems had developed, since I had waited so long. I prayed for another miracle, and this time, He answered. I had my surgery, which was not nearly as bad as I imagined it would be, and there was nothing major that was wrong with me. Now I am completely healed, but this process taught me that sometimes you have to wait for God to answer your prayers. He always hears us, but sometimes His answers come in different times and ways than we expect.

God, help me to learn that Your answers to
my prayers are even better than the ones I imagine.
I want to trust that Your solutions are the best ones.
