two’s company,
three’s a crowd

For we are God’s workmanship,
created in Christ Jesus to do good works,
which God prepared in advance for us to do.

EPHESIANS 2:10

One in a world of twos! Have you ever felt left out because all your friends have “significant others”? Your best friend has a boyfriend now, so even though she doesn’t try to push you away or anything, you feel like you don’t belong in that circle anymore? These couples now share an emotional connection that naturally excludes you and everyone else. My problem is that I somehow feel less because I don’t have a boyfriend like all my friends. I know, how lame is that, right? It’s not that I necessarily want a boyfriend, but to know that someone likes you goes a long way. Yet I’ve been so stupid, looking for someone in the world when God is right there. We are God’s workman-ship. Have you ever seen an artist who didn’t treasure something that he’d sweated over and made perfect? I like to write and I know that I get pretty protective of my work! How much more does God love us? He has created us to do good works and He knows what we’ll do. That means we don’t have to worry about finding a guy now. God will take care of us. Think about Adam and Eve in the garden. Adam wanted someone to share life with him, but he didn’t go looking for a wife by himself. He knew that God would provide someone for him. God will take care of us. The hard part is waiting for His timing.

God, thank You for loving me
and for sending other people to love me.
Teach me to know that You will take care of all my needs.
