Pressure Cooker Safety

–Do not try to open the lid when it is still pressurized. The locking system on new generation models prevents this from happening but this safety feature may not be available if you have an older pressure cooker.

–When opening the lid, turn it away from your face so that any remaining steam will not blow against your face.

–Some recipes require placing bowls and moulds into the pressure cooker. If the bowl does not have a handle, construct an aluminum foil handle so it will be easy to lift it out at the end of the cooking time.

–Always ensure the lid is properly positioned to avoid leakage. Leakage can also occur around pressure release valve if something is wrong with it. Make sure food or debris is not clogging these essential areas.

Enjoy healthy cooking under pressure!
