Spicy Split Pea Soup (Clean eating, Gluten free, Low carb)

The flavors of the ingredients are fused in the pressure cooker to give you a perfect soup.

Cooking time: 30 minutes

Servings: 6

Ingredients:

12 ounces sausage, diced

1 cup dried split peas

1 medium onion, chopped

2 1/2 cups chicken stock

2 large carrots, diced

1 medium potato, diced

1 teaspoon dried thyme

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon dried chipotle chili pepper

Salt, to taste

Pepper, to taste

Directions:

1. Preheat the pressure cooker using the "brown" or "sauté" button. Add the sausage and brown for a few minutes. Remove and set aside.

2. Add onion and sauté until tender. Return the sausage to the pan. Add the rest of the ingredients except salt and pepper.

3. Close the lid and lock. Cook for 15 minutes at high pressure. At the end of the cooking time, quick release the pressure.

4. Open the lid carefully and season with salt and pepper.
