Chapter 13

Nu-Nu stood a few yards away as the coroner pulled up to cart off the body. Nu-Nu had been at the game when the shooting happened, out chick hunting. After the chaos died down a little, Nu-Nu saw a man aiming a gun at Carmelo right before kidnapping him. Nu-Nu couldn’t believe his eyes. After he had escaped the crack house of death two years ago in the midst of Carmelo’s murderous rampage. Nu-Nu hung around, lurking in the shadows, wanting to see who survived the shoot-out.

When he saw the albino-looking man creeping out the back door of the crack house, Nu-Nu automatically figured him to be Carmelo, the crazy guy who yelled out Twan’s name, alerting everyone in the house that Twan was a rat. Nu-Nu always thought about what he’d say to Carmelo if and when he saw him again. When the day finally arrived, somebody kidnapped him. Nu-Nu spotted a curvaceous woman sitting on a motorcycle and decided to take his shot to see if he could get inside those panties.

Zetta saw the 5’8” tall, skinny, pretty boy approaching her with a swagger like he knew he had a shot. She wasn’t thinking about him. She was worried about Carmelo and wondering why the man kidnapped him at gunpoint.

Good thing I didn’t go with him, ‘cause I’d probably be with his ass right now, or even worse, hanging with the main man in eternal rest over by Carmelo’s car, she thought as the skinny, pretty boy spoke to her.

“I’m fine,” Zetta said with a stank attitude, letting him know that she didn’t want to be bothered.

“Oh yeah? You don’t sound like it. I mean, is it me, or is it the heat that’s irritating you?”

It’s your pressed ass, she wanted to say, but she kept her thoughts in check. “It’s neither   one. I’m just waiting on my boyfriend, that’s all, and I don’t want to be arguing with him over no dumb shit like who you is and why I’m talking to you,” she lied. Then she added, “He’s very jealous, you know.”

I can see why, with all that ass you got, Nu-Nu thought, giving Zetta a quick salute. “I can definitely take a hint, Shorty. I’m gone, but you enjoy life,” Nu-Nu said politely, then he busted a U-turn.

As soon as Nu-Nu turned on his heels, he spotted Carmelo walking towards his car, rubbing his head. Nu-Nu put some pep in his step, trying to catch up to Carmelo before he left the area.

Nu-Nu had no idea that Zetta was watching his every move.
