Dear reader,
It seems only a short time since I sat down to write to you. Here we are in the first months of 2024 and looking forward to the spring. It has been a joy to write a third Teashop book and visit again the beautiful Kent coast, albeit in wartime.
Have you visited Margate or Ramsgate? I have many happy memories of visiting both towns for holidays with my parents when I was a child. Later, day trips taking the Brownies for days out – that was hectic and fun! In recent years, I have spent many happy times in Ramsgate with writing friends Natalie, Ann, Rosemary, Francesca and Elaine R., where we would spend a week working hard and enjoying visiting the Ramsgate Tunnels, many teashops, as well as the historical harbour that has featured in my books. We are blessed in Kent to have so many historical places to visit and enjoy. Happy memories!
In this book, you would have read how some of ‘the girls’ leave the shores of England to play their part in bringing the Second World War to an end. This has taken my research to a new level, which means I can purchase more books – I need to move to a larger house, although my husband seems to think we need to downsize . . .
If you have enjoyed my books, please do let me know by popping to my ‘Elaine Everest Author’ page on Facebook and joining in with our chats. I would also appreciate a short review on Amazon, even if you purchased the book elsewhere or borrowed it from your library. Just a few words will suffice.
Thank you again for being such loyal readers.
Until next time,
Elaine xx
