I hope it’s not too much of a spoiler to tell you this book features pregnancy.
At the time I wrote this book, Americans like these characters had a choice whether to continue their pregnancy. Effective June 24, 2022, Americans no longer have that choice. If I were writing this book today, the plot and emotions expressed would be different. The stakes would be different. These characters would have had a different journey, and I think this trope carries new weight. Because our right to bodily autonomy has been revoked, I know reading this story might be difficult for some. Please know that I am fighting for reproductive justice.
