Bright Ideas

We had been in Thailand for a month. We would need to start coming up with an income-generating idea because our savings would only last so long. We wanted to stay as long as possible. We had to also do a Visa run to Burma/Myanmar, but we would face it another day.

We had numerous conversations with the people we met, and we decided to design and have our own UV night dive company running as a division of our company.

So, we order the UV lights, the UV glasses, the head straps, all from China. It had to be done in a bulk purchase to be able to exported. So, we spent hours on the designs and planning.

We went for our very first visa run in Burma/Myanmar. The only way to get there and back in the most cost-efficient and time-efficient way was to take the night ferry to Chumphon and a bus from Ranong and then a minibus to the border.

A speedboat trip across the water, and you were in the resort in the following country.

We paid our fee, handed in our passports, went to the duty-free shopping area, gambled a bit, walked away with a bottle of whiskey, walked back down, got our stamped passports, and there we went; speedboat, minibus, bus, Night ferry, and back in Koh Tao!

We arrived back to find we had a new neighbor. Who would have thought the lady who walked out of her apartment, waved hello, wearing white pants and a blue tank top with a bag over her shoulder, would still be my best friend today!

We befriended her and decided she had to try Braai Pies!

Demi took us on conversations that I never thought I would have heard or stories we would tell!

We spent hours together laughing and telling stories. We went up the mountain to sit at the top and enjoy the sunset with Savannas. We had triplet tattoos done!

She moved to Krabi, and we thought it was the most challenging thing to say goodbye, so, in times to come, we followed her there to extend the fun!
