View from the Empire State Building

Being up here on the top of the Empire State Building makes me feel united with my dream universe. Ever since childhood I have had this recurring ability in my dreams – I can fly! This happens in various scenarios. Maybe I want to go somewhere in a hurry and -Poof! - I just take off, then land in a crowd of people without anyone noticing. I am also able to fly high above a city’s rooftops and across long stretches of land.

Apparently to view things from above is something deep within me and I actually make use of that sensation of flying in many of my pictures. Sometimes I stay pretty faithful to the customary, more recognizable, route but quite often I come up with my own flight path. However, without the vantage points that are available at the Empire State Building and Rockefeller Center I might not have been inspired to create these “from above New York” works from this perspective.
