Using the grid method of drawing will help you create accuracy in your shapes. It is no different than the puzzle we did previously except now we know what the subject is. Unfortunately, that is exactly what will make it hard.
We have a tendency to draw from memory instead of seeing things as little shapes that interlock. Try to always draw what you see, not what you think you know. Use the grid as a way to divide what you know into small shapes within each box. Drawing only the shapes you see within each box will help you be accurate.
Count the squares on the photo reference and draw the same number on your drawing paper using a very light touch. These lines need to be light and easy to erase later.
Drawing just one box at a time, capture the shapes of the tiger as seen within each box from the reference photo. Go slow and see the reference as a puzzle. The entire outcome of the drawing hinges on how accurate you are at this stage of the game.
