With bulging athletic bags tossed in the back seat and covered with a blanket, Allison had just started her road trip when she got a flat tire.
Change it? Allison never did work she didn’t have to. Lazy, but not lacking in bravado.
When she spotted the patrol car, she unfastened her top blouse button and flashed a smile.
“I’ll radio for help,” the cop said.
“Couldn’t you change it, pleeease? I’m in a hurry.”
“Can’t. There’s been a bank robbery. Bandits just escaped with two bags of cash.”
Allison looked helpless.
“Okay,” the cop said, “but don’t tell anyone.”
