The mind is an amazing thing, Malcolm thought. The distant sound of an airplane made him think of passengers off for a trip far away. But his brain was really fixed on the work stacked on his desk. He had two troublesome proposals to complete, and a deadline loomed for a client’s marketing plan.
And his boss, Mr. Latcher, always seemed to be lurking just outside Malcolm’s office. Or was it his imagination? Regardless, it made him nervous.
“Malcolm. You’re frowning,” said his wife on the sand next to him. “Worrying about work again? We’re on vacation in Hawaii. Relax.”
