Carlos looked at his watch. The committee meeting had dragged on for 79 minutes. A complete waste, he thought. Pointless. Do committees ever accomplish anything?
Glancing up, he heard the senior VP and committee chair suddenly echo his thoughts.
“This committee is constantly criticized for never getting anything accomplished, and I’m sick of it.
“But today I can announce that Rose, Thad, and Roland have completed a major project. Their group has just finished the comprehensive schedule of our twice-weekly meetings. So, for the next 12 months we know exactly when this committee will be meeting. Good job, you guys.”
