“Excuse me,” Nina said.
The man loading computer equipment into a box looked startled.
“We saw the sign,” she said. “Okay if we look around?”
“Sign?”
“The ‘for sale’ sign.”
“Oh, yeah. Look around.”
“Getting ready to move out?”
“Any minute.”
“He’s funny,” Nina said, turning to her husband. “Let’s look upstairs.”
“That bedroom was pretty messy,” Nina whispered as they came down the stairs a few minutes later. “The drawers were open with clothes on the floor. But I love the house. Let’s make an offer.”
She walked through the kitchen and family room. “Now where did he go?”
