GARLIC HERB DROP BISCUITS

Quick biscuits? No problem! The herbs in these drop biscuits give them great color and flavor. All you need is a little butter to go along with them.

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon baking powder

1 teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon garlic powder

1 tablespoon finely chopped chives

1 tablespoon finely chopped dill

6 tablespoons cold butter, cut into cubes

1 cup low-fat or whole milk

Preheat the oven to 425 degrees. Place the flour, baking powder, salt, garlic powder, chives, and dill in the bowl of a food processor, and pulse until well mixed. Add the cold butter, and pulse until the mixture resembles small peas. Slowly add the milk while pulsing the dough, stopping as soon as the milk is incorporated.

Drop the dough by heaping tablespoonsful onto a baking sheet, and bake the biscuits for 12 to 14 minutes, until the tops are golden.

MAKES 14 SERVINGS.
