HAM AND PINEAPPLE SKEWERS

Ham and pineapple is without a doubt one of my favorite food combinations. I just love those sweet and salty flavors, y’all! When you stick those two on skewers, brush them with a brown sugar glaze, and then grill them up, the result is simply irresistible.

1 (12-ounce) ham steak, cut into 1-inch cubes

4 cups 1-inch chunks pineapple (1 large pineapple)

½ cup fresh orange juice

¼ cup firmly packed brown sugar

2 tablespoons spicy brown mustard

Heat the grill to medium-high heat. Thread the ham and pineapple pieces alternately onto wooden skewers. Stir together the orange juice, brown sugar, and mustard in a small bowl. Brush the ham and pineapple with the juice mixture, and then place the skewers on the grill. Cook for 10 minutes, rotating and brushing the glaze on the skewers every 2 to 3 minutes. Serve the skewers hot or at room temperature.

MAKES 4 TO 6 SERVINGS.
