A Letter from Carolyn

Dear reader,

I want to say a huge thank you for choosing to read Her Final Breath. If you loved the book, I would be incredibly grateful if you would write a brief, honest review. Every day, women and children retreat to the safety of shelters around the world. It’s such a sad statement that their existence is even necessary. When it came time to write Her Final Breath, I wanted to shed some light on this global epidemic and stress how if we know a woman or child in need of help, that it’s our responsibility to do what we can to offer it.

With this novel, I also wanted to express my gratitude for those who serve either in law enforcement or the military. They not only risk their lives in the line of duty, but also their mental and emotional health. They see humanity at its worst and are left to process that. Sometimes it’s too much to ask. As a society we need to speak up for mental health, and as individuals, make sure we are there for those who need us.

I’d like to thank Lindsey Paul, my niece and a teacher, for her insight into how reporting suspected abuse works in the school system.

Another shout-out of gratitude goes to Yvonne Van Gaasbeck, a former coroner in the state of Georgia, who answered my questions about broken necks and contusions.

While I do my best to get police procedure accurate, if you’re familiar with the Prince William County, Virginia area, you’ll realize differences between reality and my book. That’s me taking creative liberties.

If you’d like to continue investigating murder, you’ll be happy to know there will be more Detective Amanda Steele books. I also offer several other international bestselling series for you to savor—everything from crime fiction, to cozy mysteries, to thrillers and action adventures. One of these series features Detective Madison Knight, another kick-ass female detective, who will risk her life, her badge—whatever it takes—to find justice for murder victims.

Also if you enjoyed being in the Prince William County, Virginia, area, you might want to return in my Brandon Fisher FBI series. Brandon is Becky Tulson’s boyfriend and was mentioned in this book. You can read about when they first met in Silent Graves (book two in my FBI series). These books are perfect for readers who love heart-pounding thrillers and are fascinated with the psychology of serial killers. Each installment is a new case with a fresh bloody trail to follow. Hunt with the FBI’s Behavioral Analysis Unit and profile some of the most devious and darkest minds on the planet.

Last but certainly not least, I love hearing from my readers! You can get in touch on my Facebook page, through Twitter, Goodreads, or my website. This is also a good way to stay notified of my new releases. You can also reach out to me via email at Carolyn@CarolynArnold.net.

Wishing you a thrill a word!
