MINISTER’S DELIGHT

A friend gave me this recipe several years ago. She told me that a local minister’s wife fixed it every Sunday, so she named it accordingly.

Prep: 5 min. • Cook: 2 hours Makes: 12 servings

1 can (21 oz.) cherry or apple pie filling

1 pkg. yellow cake mix (regular size)

1/2 cup butter, melted

1/3 cup chopped walnuts, optional

Place the pie filling in a 11/2-qt. slow cooker. Combine the cake mix and butter (mixture will be crumbly); sprinkle over filling. Sprinkle with walnuts if desired. Cover and cook on low for 2-3 hours. Serve in bowls.

1 serving: 304 cal., 12g fat (6g sat. fat), 20mg chol., 357mg sod., 48g carb. (31g sugars, 1g fiber), 2g pro.
