Dear Reader,

One of my favorite parts of my job as a writer is doing research and learning new things. Before I wrote this book I did not know very much about how dogs can help people who do not hear well. I did a lot of research, mostly on the Internet, and I learned a lot. Like Lizzie, I was very moved when I watched videos of service dogs working with their owners.
