Pray for Me

I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them.

1 TIMOTHY 2:1

“I’LL BE PRAYING FOR YOU.

You’ve heard this before and maybe even said it. People of faith often pray for one another or give comfort to others by promising to pray about a situation. Prayer is one important way to talk to God about the struggles we have. It’s also an important way to ask God to help our friends and family members.

When we take time to pray for others, we’re loving them. When we share our concerns with God about others’ needs and struggles, we get the chance to be grateful for the role those people play in our lives. We can ask God to bless, love, and comfort others. We can ask God to help, heal, and show mercy to them. And of course, when we pray for others, it’s a great time to tell God how much we love and appreciate those people.

Every time we pray, we have an opportunity to pray for others. So why not make it a habit? Just a simple “God, thank you for my mom. Please help her do well on her engineering exam” is so easy to include in daily prayer. The Bible encourages us to pray for others; and remember, there are plenty of people praying for you, too.

DO

Think about one thing you’d like God’s help with in your life. Who could you ask to pray for you about this? Who are people in your life who could use prayer? Think about those people and the situations they’re experiencing, then spend time praying for them.

PRAY

Dear God,

Thank you for putting my friends and family members in my life. Thank you for giving me great people who love me and want the best for me. Please help me remember to pray for them when I talk to you. Remind me to lift their needs and concerns to you. Amen.
