99 Forrest Reid (1875–1947), the novelist, was living in Belfast at this time. His story is told in his two autobiographies, Apostate (1926) and Private Road (1940). There are several references to Arthur Greeves and J.N. Bryson in Russell Burlingham’s Forrest Reid: A Portrait and a Study (1953). A portrait of Reid, painted by Greeves, is in the possession of the Royal Academical Institution, Belfast.
