THIS POTTERY WAS established in the art department of Newcomb College in New Orleans in 1897. Each piece was hand-thrown and bore the potter’s mark and decorator’s monogram on the base. It was always a studio business and never operated as a factory. Its pieces are, therefore, scarce, with the early wares eagerly sought. The pottery closed in 1940.
