MMT, at its core, is not primarily about spurring economic growth. Modern Monetary Theory is mostly designed to address class warfare by punishing the wealthy and coercing and manipulating society to bend to the whims of the elites pulling all the levers in Washington, D.C.—the same principles at the heart of socialism.

Advancements in technology and new economic theories can open the door to revolutionary societal changes, and we should welcome these changes when they are a product of voluntary interactions and free markets. But when government is empowered with the ability to manage virtually every aspect of human life, we should start to worry.

We are quickly approaching a time in history when governments are no longer going to be constrained by their inability to enact absolute control over their citizens. The technologies described in this chapter and the concept of Modern Monetary Theory blow the doors off long-standing limitations on government power and pave the way for a time when government will be able to enact and enforce any mandate it deems necessary.

When mixed with socialism, all this could make for a truly horrifying totalitarian cocktail.
