A column of vehicles has halted on a road near the Soviet frontier. The soldiers wear the standard pattern army field-grey greatcoat with field-grey collar. The greatcoat has been correctly worn buttoned up to the neck, with the collar being worn turned up around the wearer’s neck and lower part of the face. A small cloth flap was buttoned across the throat and attached to a small button on the opposite side of the coat.
