“This song just showed up in my life one day. No idea where it came from, but there it was. It served a purpose and always came on when I needed it to. It is filled with the simplicity of life, but you can feel the world’s complexity in the singer’s voice. So that is what I wanted to attempt. To make something that is simple. I have been thinking about atoms a lot lately. And I love that the atoms that make up the universe are the same as those that make up a house or a log. Something so simple connected to something so big and complex. Just like life—simplicity and complexity coexisting.”
