My kayak was bigger than Ethan’s and I’m stronger than he is so I was faster.
As I got closer to Ethan, the water got darker and deeper. I looked up at the sky. It was grey. A storm was coming.
I shouted to Ethan, “Wait! Ethan, please wait.”
He stopped paddling and floated on the rolling waves.
“Go back,” he shouted.
“No. I’m not going back without you,” I replied.
He watched me getting closer. Suddenly he put up his arm in fear and shouted, “Look out!”
I turned to look as a giant wave hit me from the side. It sent me flying. The kayak flipped over and I was pulled down into the angry sea.
