In your walk with Christ, it is not always smooth sailing. There will be plenty of storms that cross your path. It is important how you face those storms, how you handle each situation as it comes. You may choose to be frightened and do nothing but complain, or you may choose to be bold and take those storms head-on.
As soon as I pray, you answer me; you encourage me by giving me strength (Psalm 138:3 NLT).
The wicked flee though no one pursues, but the righteous are as bold as a lion. Proverbs 28:1
How bold are you in your faith? A lot of Christians are so afraid of “rocking the boat” that they tend to water down their words when talking to others about God. But in the world today, we need to stand up for our beliefs and not care how people may react.
In Acts 4, Peter and John show us how to be bold in our faith. They never watered down their words; they spoke the truth without fear of what the people would say or do.
Now, Lord, consider their threats and enable your servants to speak your word with great boldness. Stretch out your hand to heal and perform miraculous signs and wonders through the name of your holy servant Jesus.” After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly (Acts 4:29–31NIV).
It takes a lot of courage to speak up for what you believe. That’s why it is so important to stay in the Word. You need to be in constant communication with God so that you will know what words to say and when to say them.
Fear can be a powerful tool for a Christian. It helps us to feel our way through certain situations. If you’re numb to what is going on, what good are you? Take that fear and use it to speak boldly to others.
Wow! How I want to be bold in my faith. I want to be able to put the bucket away and stop watering down my words. To be able to stand up for Christ, no matter what situation I am in, would be a victory for God and a defeat for Satan.
How about you? Bucket or boldness?
