Day 90: The Bright Morning Star Has Spoken.

Before compasses and other navigating devices were around, captains had to guide their ships by the sun and stars. But, what if the skies were filled with dark, stormy clouds? How would those captains find their way?

Well, there is one “star” that shows itself at all times, day or night, clear skies or cloudy skies.

“Look, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to each person according to what they have done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End (Revelation 22:12–13 NIV).

Are we ready for Jesus to return? Are we secure enough in our faith, and in the way we’ve lived our lives, to be ready to see Him face-to-face? We need to step back and evaluate how we’ve lived so far. Have we used our gifts to further God’s kingdom? Are we letting Him guide our daily lives? Jesus is coming! He is bringing a reward for those who have done well. He will give each of us what is truly due us. He has the last say in it all.

Verses 14–15: “Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they may have the right to the tree of life and may go through the gates into the city. Outside are the dogs, those who practice magic arts, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idolaters and everyone who loves and practices falsehood.

Which side will you be on? Washing my robe sounds mighty wonderful to me. To walk through those gates and into the city; to spend eternity with Jesus! Wow.

Verse 16: “I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give you this testimony for the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, and the bright Morning Star.”

Jesus has spoken these words of truth. He states it clearly for all to understand. We need to open our hearts and let Him show us how our robes can become white.

Jesus is the only “star” that can guide us to where we need to go. He will point us in the right direction, especially when we feel lost and alone. It is up to us to choose to follow Him. He will return one day soon. . . .

So, I ask again: are we ready?
