Day 100:  Make Waves!

When a huge wave comes toward a boat, it can do one of two things: it can either help that boat to go in the direction it wishes to go, or it can force that boat to go in a different direction; one it never intended to go.

As witnesses for Christ, we are like a wave. Daily we see lost souls that are drifting the wrong way, so we need to push them in the right direction. At first, they might fight us, but with God’s help, we can do our part in leading them to Christ.

You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house (Matthew 5:14–15 NIV).

Have you ever tried to put a lit candle under a bowl? Once the oxygen is gone, the flame will go out. The same will happen to our light if we keep to ourselves and do not spread God’s Word.

As lights, we need to make sure that others know where our faith lies. We need to be bold, to speak up and tell others about God. We can’t be afraid to make some waves! At times, we may make a few people uncomfortable, but the Lord will tell us what to say. He will also tell us when to stop talking; something He’s had to do with me often.

Verse 16: In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.

Who knows how many people we could lead to Christ by being brave enough to speak up? We need to make some waves in this world, to shake things up a bit—to cast aside our fears and let our light shine. If not us, then who? When we gave our lives to Christ, we promised to live for Him and to do His will. Bringing others to Christ is His will.

What I tell you in the dark, speak in the daylight; what is whispered in your ear, proclaim from the roofs (Matthew 10:27 NIV).

So, get out there and make some waves!
