Day 110:  Dead Men Tell No Tales

It is so important to do what good we can do while we are still on this earth. To reach as many lost souls as possible. So many Christians put off talking to loved ones about Christ. There are many reasons for this—or should I say excuses?

I have one question for these people: what are you waiting for?

I admit it, I too was a person who loved the Lord, yet I hesitated to tell my own unsaved loved ones about Christ. I watched my brother struggle with belief, and I said nothing. I was very young, yet I should have said something. Was I too late? Yes. He died. I do not know where his heart was at the time of his death, and it pains me. I could have helped lead him to Christ, and I did nothing.

That was my wake-up call. All of my loved ones and friends now know what I believe. And I will continue to be a good example to them for Christ. I will do all that I can to show others the way to God. I don’t want to be the person I used to be. I know how hard it is to talk to strangers about God. It takes a lot of courage and faith. Now, talking to a complete stranger is one thing, but talking to your friends and family is a no brainer.

Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone (Colossians 4:5–6 NIV).

Your life could be taken at any time; or Jesus could return at any time. What then? You cannot save loved ones or strangers if you are no longer here. We need to take this to heart. How many unsaved souls cross our paths each day? We need to be brave and speak up.

Now finish the work, so that your eager willingness to do it may be matched by your completion of it, according to your means (2 Corinthians 8:11 NIV).

Do God’s work up until the end, and then you will hear those wonderful words:

Well done, good and faithful servant (Matthew 25:23 NIV).
