Expand yer crew, it be God’s order!
God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it (Genesis 1:28 NIV).
My youngest daughter is about to become a mom for the first time. She reminds me so much of myself that I can’t help but remember my own experiences of having my first child.
Children are a gift from the LORD; they are a reward from him (Psalm 127:3 NLT).
A woman giving birth to a child has pain because her time has come; but when her baby is born she forgets the anguish because of her joy that a child is born into the world (John 16:21 NIV).
Having children is a blessing from God. And even though childbirth can be a painful experience, it’s one experience I am glad I had. To this day, it amazes me how God forms life within a woman. Especially with the technology today, where so much can be seen as a baby develops.
For you created my inmost being; I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be (Psalm 139:13–16 NIV).
As I watch my daughter, I regret not pondering my own pregnancies more while I was pregnant. I see her belly grow, and I can just imagine God forming my little granddaughter. He is making her unique, molding her in a special way.
There is no greater joy on this earth than to hold your newborn child or your grandchild in your arms. Family bonds are so important, but God has the greatest bond of all. His is the Father of fathers. We are His children, and His love for us runs deep and eternal!
For He foreordained us, destined us, planned in love for us to be adopted as His own children through Jesus Christ, in accordance with the purpose of His will because it pleased Him and was His kind intent (Ephesians 1:5 AMP).
