Day 162:  Where Does Your Ship Make Berth?

Pirates tend to hide their ships in remote coves so as not to be captured. Honest merchants proudly dock their ships in ports for all to see.

Then hear from heaven, your dwelling place. Forgive, and deal with everyone according to all they do, since you know their hearts (for you alone know the human heart) (2 Chronicles 6:30 NIV).

Are you living a fake Christian life? You can’t hide your true intentions from God. He knows you better than you know yourself. He knows your heart. You can’t just go through the motions and leave it at that. You need to put your heart and soul into pleasing the Lord.

And may your hearts be fully committed to the LORD our God, to live by his decrees and obey his commands, as at this time (1 Kings 8:61NIV).

If you have given your life to Christ, are you doing all that you can for Him? Or are you hiding out in a remote cove somewhere? No matter where you are, God is watching. You won’t get away with anything. Even if you fool the whole world into thinking that you are walking with God, if you are not, God knows.

Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account (Hebrews 4:13 NIV).

And you will be held accountable for all of your actions. Whether good or bad, you will be rewarded or punished accordingly.

It is written: “‘As surely as I live,’ says the Lord, ‘every knee will bow before me; every tongue will acknowledge God.’” So then, each of us will give an account of ourselves to God (Romans 14:11–12 NIV).

We all need to take an inventory of our lives. Have we been living for Christ or ourselves? Are we trying to spread His Word or keeping it to ourselves? This is serious, and we all need to make sure that we are on the right course in life.

So, if you’re hiding out, you need to come out of hiding and begin living your life according to God’s will and not your own. You will be rewarded instead of punished.

Jesus says:

“For the Son of Man will come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and then He will reward each according to his works (Matthew 16:27 KJV).
