Molly Jane Quinn and Jenna Talbott met four years ago in a bookstore in Boston that specialized in rare design tomes. Both had been browsing for midcentury classics when they reached for the same title: a signed copy of abstract expressionist Hans Hoffman’s softcover MoMA retrospective. Though neither one went home with the book, they did become fast friends, shutting down a sake bar and making a pact to bring to light the malaise of modern design misfits. And so, the revolutionary blog Unhappy Hipsters was born.
