8 ounces each: lean ground beef, ground lamb
2 tablespoons chopped onion
2 cloves garlic, minced
½ teaspoon each: dried oregano leaves, dill weed
1 teaspoon salt
4 pita breads
Gyros Relish (recipe follows)
1. Combine ground meats, onion, garlic, herbs, and salt; shape into 4 patties. Cook in large skillet over medium heat to desired degree of doneness, about 5 minutes on each side for medium. Serve in pitas with Gyros Relish.
Makes about 2 cups
1 each: seeded, chopped small cucumber, medium tomato, sliced green onion
⅔ cup plain fat-free yogurt
½ teaspoon each: dried mint and oregano leaves
