The tagline of this book is “All That’s Left to Know About the World’s Most Celebrated Adult Beverage.” But it’s hardly “all” or even “most.” There is no such thing as the definitive work on the subject. It’s more like a definitive library. Entire volumes have been written on each of the chapters explored/questions answered—and even on single paragraphs within those chapters. The fact is, there’s plenty left to learn about beer, and if this book has done its job, your interest is piqued and you’re ready to continue the journey and learn more of what’s left to know about this mesmerizingly romantic beverage that unites disparate peoples, continents, and cultures. At the very least, you’ll never look at the contents of your bottle, can, or pint glass quite the same way again.
