About the Authors

MARK COLLIN REID is the editor-in-chief and director of content development at Canada’s History Society. An award-winning journalist, he has worked as an editor, reporter, and photographer for Canwest News Service, the Calgary Herald, the New Brunswick Telegraph Journal, and the Saint John Times-Globe. Two of his books, 100 Photos That Changed Canada and 100 Days That Changed Canada, were bestsellers. A graduate of Dalhousie University and the University of King’s College, Reid lives in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

DON NEWMAN is the principal strategic counsel at Temple Scott Associates, a leading communications fi rm in Ottawa and Toronto. A respected journalist, he served as senior parliamentary editor of CBC Television News and host of Politics. A member of the Order of Canada and a life member of the Canadian Parliamentary Press Gallery, Newman has been awarded a Gemini for lifetime achievement in public affairs broadcasting. He is the chairman of Canada 2020, a non-partisan forum to further the political, social, and economic well-being of Canadians.

DEBORAH MORRISON is the executive director of the Society for Educational Visits and Exchanges in Canada (SEVEC). Prior to this, Morrison was the president and CEO of Canada’s History Society and publisher of Canada’s History magazine and Kayak: Canada’s History for Kids. Her distinguished career includes developing history-related programs for the Historica Foundation of Canada and the CRB Foundation.
