The Girl who Dreamed in Magic is a magical love letter to my favourite country I’ve ever visited: Norway. I adored writing this book, but like any good Viking voyage, I did not sail alone!
Thank you to my wonderful agent, Thérèse Coen, for everything, and to Emma Jones and Naomi Colthurst for pushing this boat out from harbour. Huge, bear-shaped thanks to my editor Lowri Ribbons for being brilliant and making this journey so enjoyable.
My gratitude and endless appreciation to the whole Puffin team, including: Shreeta Shah, Chessanie Vincent, Arabella Jones, Louisa Hunter, Toni Budden, Kat Baker, Sam Stanton-Stewart, Mary O’Riordan and Leena Lane.
A special thanks to Nakul P., who illustrated a cover every bit as magical as Saga’s dreams!
Thank you to all the book bloggers, bookstagrammers, booktokkers, booktubers and booksellers who champion my books, especially Waterstones Nottingham and West Bridgford, and Wonderland Bookshop – I wish I could give you all a horn of magical ice crystals!
Sending sparkly thank-yous to the authors who so kindly said such nice things about this book, and to all my author friends, who I adore as much as Bjørn loves honey.
An entire ice castle of thanks must go to my family and friends, who support me and are always there for me, especially my husband, Michael Brothwood, who makes me happy every day. And to Dziadzio, who inspired a lot of Saga’s afi. I miss you telling me stories but they, and you, live on in my heart.
Finally, thank you everyone who has picked up this book and joined me for this voyage; I hope you enjoyed your adventure with Saga and Bjørn!
