Chinese Sex #1: Pillow Books

The oldest surviving sex manual was written by Huang Ti, the Yellow Emperor, in about 2500 BCE. Writing in a question-and-answer format, the emperor asked the goddess Wise Maiden how to seduce and satisfy a woman. That book was the precursor of the Taoist pillow books, small sex instruction manuals, each on a specific topic with explicit illustrations.

Create your own pillow books.

1. Buy attractive journals with blank paper and label them, for example, Fellatio, Cunnilingus, Intercourse Positions, etc.

2. Cut out erotic photos and drawings from magazines or old books and paste them into your pillow books.

3. Copy your favorite sex technique recipes from my books onto the pages.

4. Add your notes about how you adapted techniques.

5. Include erotic poems, pressed flowers, cards, and mementos.
